The view from our room

We are staying at the Waterfall Hotel in Guilin. It is really beautiful. The hotel has a sheer wall outside and at 8:30 every night, water falls down this wall and creates a waterfall. (Hence the name of the hotel) We are so lucky because our room has a window under the waterfall. We came into our room last night as the waterfall was happening. It was so cool. We are hoping to catch it from the outside tonight.

This is the square of Guilin. People come here to exercise and meet. There are also shops here. (and McDonald's, Pizza Hut and KFC) If you look at the top picture, you will see 2 pyramid shaped buildings. These are actually steps to an underground shopping area. That is definitely on our list of things to do. I hope we have enough time.

Guilin looks so awesome! Hope you are enjoying this part of the trip. Love the picture of Nathan - he looks so tiny. We check in everyday & wish we were there with you.

Other than the rock hard bed, we loved the Waterfall and Guilin. It really is a breathtakingly beautiful city!
Have you crossed the street and walked down to see the sidewalk fan dances, tai chi etc? We would watch them for what seemed like hours.
By the way, beware of pick pockets...but there is a wonderful Mall-ish walk by the hotel that has the neatest shops.
Enjoy your stay in Guilin and hope Nathan is adjusting a little more every day. Hugs!

Great view. The Chinese really have a thing for bad architecture though. Guilin looks pretty amazing
