Sometime it doesn't take much...

...to make me smile. Last night we had storms so Brynn ended up in our bed about 1:30. While she was sleeping, she giggled. It was the cutest thing. Too bad the rest of the night was her kicking me, me moving her to her pillow, her kicking me, me moving her to her pillow, etc...

Getting a hair cut

Brynn got her hair cut last night. It was only the second time in 2 years. She did so well. She just sat there like such a big girl. (It may have been the promised lollipop!) Here is the during picture:

Chin Down!!

And the finished product at the salon:

She is such a big girl. There isn't much toddler left in her. She is all girl.

"Just Terrible..."

Last night, Kevin had to fix a leaking pipe that was in our basement. Brynn wanted to "help". (Not really a good thing to have a 2 year old helping when there is an open fire from a propane tank!) Only one problem--she had to pee-pee and poo-poo. (Thank you Elmo for the words!) After going up and down the stairs 3 times, I got smart. I brought the potty chair to her. She sat on it for 45 minutes with her Pull-up around her ankles. Never did pee-pee:) Aaaah, the joys of ptty training.

Brynn's new catchphrase is "This is just terrible." She said it all last night, no matter what we were doing. We were feeding the dogs. We were eating supper. We were driving to Aunt Norma's. We Were trying on dresses at Aunt Norma's. We were fixing a leaky pipe in the basement. "This is just terrible." Never did figure out what was so bad!

About the dresses that Aunt Norma made--They are adorable. She made Brynn 2 dresses and 3 skirts. I will have to post the pictures later. Aunt Norma is such a sweetheart for making them. They make potty training easier too. Plus, Brynn loves to "Wig-dle, Wig-dle" in skirts. So cute!!

Last night she also told me her favorite color--It's purple. Just like Dora's backpack. Maybe her new room should be purple, hmmmmm.

Our weekend

Friday night we went to a local baseball game with TRFCC (Our local branch of Families with Chinese Children). The ball park does a great job of entertaining ever and the mascot is a hoot. Friday nights are Party in the Park and they always end with fireworks. Brynn loved them. She wasn't scared at all, which surprises me considering these are the first that she saw that she would remember.

Saturday, we woke up to pick raspberries. I think our container would have been much fuller had my almost 3 year old not been following me while we were picking. Sunday, we had to stop and buy strawberries to mix with our raspberries. Now, that is a wonderful snack. If only raspberries didn't stain everything they touch!!

You may be wondering about the blog address name

Well, it is very easy to explain. We have an almost 3 year old daughter who has a duck hooded bath towel. When she puts it on, she says "twack-twack. Makes sense now, ha?

I am so excited to get this blog started. It will be a great way to share our family. We adopted out daughter from China in 2005. She is the joy our of lives. I hope that others will enjoy reading about our pretty mundane lives
