Here's Nathan

Here is Nathan. He came into the room crying and really didn't stop until he crashed on the floor dead asleep. Yes, we know that it is a good thing. This usually means that he is bonded to someone and knows how to bond, but it sure does stink when you are in the middle of it.

His foster mom gave him a backpack with a photo album, raisins, and a red envelope with some money in it. He came to us with a toy gun and barbie cell phone that makes a ton of noise!!

He has been playing some with the toys we brought and seems a little more content. He ate a ton of fried noodles and chicken.

We didn't get a picture of the four of us yet. Hopefully tomorrow. It was just too crazy today.

Tomorrow, we will finalize the Chinese part of the adoption. Hannah (our guide) is taking us to Walmart for some much needed water and snacks.

Kevin and I are exhausted. We are hoping Nathan goes to sleep soon. Wish us luck tonight!

Julie & Kevin,
Things will be better in the morning (BTDT)! I remember Lia crying out "Mama" in her sleep the first night and knowing that I wasn't the "Mama" she was calling for. It is painful and hard to be in the middle, but it will pass. I am praying for your family.

Congratulations! He's beautiful and things will slowly improve. My youngest, Claire, came to me crying, screaming, kicking, and hitting! She was like an 18 pound Tzamanian devil!

Congrats. We're so happy for you guys. It's great to know that he came with the essentials for success in America: a toy gun and Barbie cell phone. Nice.

Congrats! Nathan is so precious. I feel for you guys right now. It broke our hearts to see Kai hurting so much on that first day. Each day gets a bit easier and Nathan will soon feel comforted by all of you.
Don't you love those loud toy phones? All of ours "mysteriously" broke before boarding our plane home to America.
How's the big sister doing?

Hang in there! I know it is rough to have a child crying inconsolably (anyone remember Catie that first day????). His world has been turned upside-down and so has yours. I hope you all have had a restorative night's sleep and that you wake up to a better day.

He is absolutely precious and it is so good to see him, even crying, in the arms that have been waiting for him for so long!

I know you have a difficult few days and nights ahead of you, I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and hope you get some sleep!
Nathan is adorable. Let him carry his backpack wherever he goes as his security blanket, and start adding some of the toys you brought with you into that backpack.

You are not just my sister your my best friend. Have fun in China and let me know when it would be ok to come home to see you all. Love you all. Give my neice and nephew a big kiss and tell them Aunt Lu loves them and will see them soon.
