Waiting and Waiting...

We had to be at the hospital at 12:15. Nate wasn't taken back for his surgery until 3:15. It was such a long afternoon. H obviously had no idea the peach robe and pants meant. This is one of the few pictures that he is actually smiling his smile and it happens in the pre-op room!
Nate had 3 surgeries. The ENT came out and said the surgery was smooth. The urologist was also happy with his part of the surgery. It took the cleft specialist about 2 more hours to come out. We were so happy when he said that Nate had just an average cleft. Everything worked the way it is supposed to. We were gald to be average.
Nate spent 2 nights and got to come home Thursday morning. Had he not had the fever, he may have been able to come home Wednesday night. The doctors finally released him and Kevin raced out of there just in case they changed their minds.
I was glad to have the entire family back under one roof.

Surgery Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow is Nate's palate surgery. We have to be at the hospital at 12:15 and his surgery is scheduled for 1 PM. It is going to be at least 4 hours.

We appreciate every prayer that you can send his way. He is going to have a lot of pain and we are going to have to manage it.

My poor little man.

Puddle Jumpin'

Is there anything more fun than jumping in puddles? They put on some old clothes and shoes (ok, Brynn's in an old bathing suit) and jumped away until the puddles were gone. So much fun.

The Wedding

The day of the wedding began with a rain shower in the morning and beautiful skies every minute after that. It was a perfect day.

Brynn and my niece, Nikki

The bride, Sara, waiting for the ceremony to start.

Brynn, during the ceremony

Brynn and me waiting for all the pictures to be taken.

Natey and Brynn at the reception. This is a perfect picture of Nate. His tongue sticks out a lot.

Grandma, Brynn and Nathan--the only picture of I have of the 3 of them.

The Wedding Rehearsal

Brynn was asked to be a flower girl in my cousin's wedding. She has been so excited, asking daily how long it was going to be until the wedding. Finally, the weekend came.

Nate and Daddy. Look--Nate is actually smiling a real smile.

This is Brynn "practicing" to throw the petals. She couldn't just walk down the aisle. She had to practice tossing too. So cute.

My name is not Kate

Recently in a local grocery store...

Brynn, Nate and I were trying to pick out what flavor yogurt we wanted for the week. A gentleman approaches me and poses a question to me.

Gentleman: "You got 6 more of those at home?"

Oblivious, I thought he was talking about the yogurt and wondering why he wanted to know if I had more at home.

Me: "No. That's why I am buying more."

G: "I was talking about kids."

Me: "Nope. Just got the 2."

Just because I live in Pennsylvania, have shorter hair, and have Asian children does not mean that I am Kate Gosselin. I only have 2 kids. No More. No Twins. No Sextuplets. Just 2.

Oh, how I wish I had been able to come up with a snappy comeback. He deserved it.
